Conhecer a História

Lourenço Cardim was one of the sons of Gaspar Clemente and his wife Inês Cardim. He was also the brother of Dr. Jorge Cardim Fróis, inspector judge, client ombudsman e associate judge in different instances of the regal administration; of Father Fernão Cardim and of Father Diogo Fróis, both priests belonging to the brotherhood Companhia de Jesus; and of Dr. Manuel Cardim, main surgeon of the kingdom.

When he finished his studies and after being ordained priest, he left to Brazil in 1585 as a missionary of the Companhia de Jesus but was killed during the journey by french buccaneers.
