Graduated in Law, through a private exam, in 1727.
Along his judiciary carrer he was appointed “Juiz de Fora” (a judge in charge of the local administration of a municipality) and judge of the orphans of Beja (1728), judge of the orphans of Oporto (1734),tax judge of Coimbra (1745), associate judge of the court of appeal in Oporto (1748), associate judge of the Casa da Suplicação (1750), associate judge of appeal of the Casa da Suplicação (1754) a chanceler of the court of appeal in Oporto (1757), a position he never took hold of because he died before the ceremony.
