Foutain da Cruz

According to the inscription it possesses, it was built in 1898, in the same year of the restoration of the minicipality's independence, within the scope of a program of improvement of the water supply infrastructures for the village, which was underway by the initiative of António Isidoro de Sousa. He received funds from popular subscription and the aim was for the people to make use of the waters that flowed to that place.
Topped with a cross from which comes its name (Cruz = Cross), it has a bowl with three cast bronze gargoyles and a gable roof with incrusted shell and cowry ornaments, but underwent changes to its original design in the second half of the 20th century, such as the removal of the circular stone marks that delimited the surrounding space.
